Walks, wheels and a warm stop by the fire

Lots of good walks bring you to us — footpaths all around, and a short diversion off the Downs Link near West Grinstead for a pint in the beer garden or by the fire. Charlie's Hut and The Lodge are ideal for walkers and cyclists, with heaters for al-fresco dining. ### To walk to us from the Downs Link Take a left turning by the metal livestock feeder (on the Downs Link heading south from West Grinstead), across a field, over a farm track, over the corner of a field to a stile in the middle of an old hedge, through the middle of the next field towards Chucks Farm. When you reach the hedge bordering the farm, follow the field right-handed up the hill and through a five-bar gate. At the top of the hill turn left and you will see the base of Jolesfield Windmill. Follow the footpath down the hill to the lane — the pub is 25 yards on the right.
